Kid Flash is the name of several speedster characters appearing in DC Comics. The most well-known is likely Wally West, who first appeared as Kid Flash in *The Flash* #110 (1960).
Wally West gained his powers in a similar fashion to The Flash (Barry Allen), being struck by lightning while chemicals were present. He became Flash's sidekick, adopting the Kid Flash moniker.
Over time, Wally West matured and eventually succeeded Barry Allen as The Flash after Allen's death in *Crisis on Infinite Earths*. He remained the Flash for many years before eventually being restored to the Kid Flash identity in some continuities.
